So… Donald Trump has stormed back into the financial arena, wielding a big axe. Slamming Bidenomics as a “disaster,” he's promising to smash up regulations that he claims are choking businesses. Bureaucrats - watch your backs. Tariffs? Back on the table. NATO? Pay up! Border? Here come the troops. Love him or loathe him, Trump’s firebrand style is rattling cages and setting the stage for a financial shake-up the likes of which we haven't seen since FDR. The markets seems to like it - especially the alternative markets.
THE MARKETS
Overall, markets have reacted positively to Trump’s first week in office.
S&P 500: +1.10%, DJIA: +1.57%, NASDAQ Composite: +1.02%
VIX fell to 14.87
CNN Fear and Greed Index moved from Fearful to Neutral (first time since early December)
Despite Trump calling for Fed rate cuts, the 10-year yield marginally rose 6 basis points
Consumer Sentiment fell for the first time in six months
Concerns over labor market & inflation due to Trump’s tariff policy

As Mark Rowan of the Apollo Fund points out in the short video below, most public market money has been concentrated in just a few stocks. One stock is bigger than every national public market but Japan!
