Happy Independence Day!
July 4th marks the anniversary of America’s Declaration of Independence. It is a time for the American people to reflect and celebrate the liberties they enjoy because of the sacrifices made by American colonists in 1775. It is not the beginning of our independence or the beginning of our government or our nation, but it is the first day we laid out our morals, principles, and ideals to the world and said we would stand for them. No matter one’s origin, politics, race, or religion, let us unite together on this day and recognize those who fought for our freedom and the importance of our country. From our team to yours, we wish you a blessed 4th of July!

Alexander Hamilton
For this Independence Day, we wrote a paper on one of our nation’s founding fathers: Alexander Hamilton. He is highlighted not only for who he was but for the long-lasting impact he had on our country and the development of our economy. He created the Treasury Department, changed the way America collects taxes, changed how our country deals with nationalized debt, and so much more. To read about his legacy, click the link below.

Wisdom from a Founding Father
Benjamin Franklin was known for his wit and pithy advice. Whether through his autobiography or other writings, such as The Way to Wealth or Poor Richard's Almanack, his wise counsel has stayed relevant for over two centuries. To celebrate both Independence Day and the importance of continuing to learn from the wise that have lived before our current time, below are some of our favorite bits of wisdom from Dr. Franklin.
“The harder you work the luckier you get.”
“Diligence is the mother of good luck.”
“It is true, there is much to be done, and perhaps, you are weak handed; but stick to it steadily, and you will see great effects; for Constant dropping wears away stones; and by diligence and patience the mouse ate in two the cable; and little strokes fell great oaks.”
“Acquire Riches by Industry and Frugality.”
“Industry, Perseverance, & Frugality, make Fortune yield.”
“He that waits upon fortune, is never sure of dinner.”
“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”
“Well done, is twice done.”
“Promises may get thee friends, but non-performance will turn them into enemies.”
“He that would live in peace and at ease, must not speak all he knows, nor judge all he sees.”
“As Pride increases, Fortune declines.”
“Would you persuade, speak of Interest, not of Reason.”
“Anger is never without Reason, but seldom with a good One.”
“Patience in Market, is worth Pounds in a year.”
“Enjoy the present hour, be mindful of the past; And neither fear nor wish the approaches of the last.”
“Dost thou love Life? Then do not squander Time; for that’s the Stuff Life is made of.”

Failing Forward
In this newsletter segment, we share stories about dealing with failure and overcoming adversity to lead to life success. If you have a story for this segment, please reach out to us!
This week on failing forward, we share an episode from the podcast Think Like A CEO with Gary Keller and Jay Papasan. Keller is the CEO of one of the most innovative real estate companies in the world. In this episode, he talks about defining success through failure. Keller endured many “failures” within his work and relationships that helped him grow and succeed today. He mentions how his mindset shifted regarding failure, from “failure is bad” to “failure is a way to learn and grow.” He says that he will learn more lessons by failing, which has led him not to fear failure. He encourages listeners to take some of those risks that may end in failure but have the potential to end in great success. He used the lessons he learned through failure to strengthen his relationships in business, life, and within himself, which he shares through his story.
